These past few months, news about the first FFXIV expansion, Heavensward, has started to come out. Expansions are always fun and it is interesting to see what direction the developers are taking the game. I haven’t played this game in months but the announcement of the expansion has caught my interest. I was a bit disappointed with the new race, the Au Ra. The male versions are interesting but the female just look like Elezen with a tail and some horns. They could have had fun with it and introduced a silly race like the Bangaas. They also announced the round up of new classes: Astrologian, Dark Knight and the Machinist. I’m curious to see how differently the Astrologian will play compared to the White Mage. They seem a bit more Scholar-like but I’m sure it will be completely different. This week to celebrate all that wonderful information I decided to recreate the Honey Muffin from the game. The recipe is pretty simple and doesn’t take too much time to make.
Required Equipment: 2 bowls, spoon, whisk, muffin tin
Serving: a dozen muffins
– 2 cups flour
– 1 tbsp baking powder
– ½ tsp salt
– ½ cup sugar
– ¼ cup butter, melted
– 1 cup almond milk
– 1 egg
– ½ cup honey
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat your oven to 400°F. In a small bowl combine the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. In a medium sized bowl combine the sugar, butter, almond milk, egg, honey and vanilla extract.
In two batches, add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients bowl. Mix together until smooth.
Pour the batter into a muffin tin, about ¾ full. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
