When I was playing FFXIV a year ago the highest item level in game was 110. It’s insane to me that they have raised the item level all the way to 210. The constant grind to keep your gear up to date with the new content is something I both miss and am happy that I don’t deal with it. I miss the armor grind a little because it was always something to work towards. We had to keep doing weekly clears of raids to get the best items in the game. The major flaw with this system is when the reward our group gets for our efforts is the same armor each week that no one in our party can use. This happened a lot and sure was annoying. My secondary character, my bard, got more upgrades than my white mage, the character I played the most!
After a day of gluttony that is Thanksgiving, I like to spend the next week cooking healthier vegetable recipes. One of my personal favorite vegetables is spinach. Growing up I would get really excited when my mother would throw some spinach into the mix. I am still happy whenever I can find a way to add spinach to any meal. One of the easiest ways to do this is to throw in some sauteed spinach. The sauteed spinach recipe in FFXIV takes it to another level by adding a few button mushrooms. This is probably the easiest recipe you’ll find on this site but it packs a lot of flavor and is a great way to get your veggies into any meal.
Required Equipment: pan
1 tsp olive oil
6 mushroom, sliced
1 tbsp butter
Warm a pan over medium-high heat. Add the teaspoon of olive oil and allow it to warm slightly. Add the mushrooms and cook until slightly browned, about 5-8 minutes.
Add the spinach to the pan. This will have to be done in batches. As the previous batch cooks and wilts add more spinach. Once you add the last batch of spinach toss in the tablespoon of butter.
Cook until all the spinach wilts and the butter melts. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
