In the cold, ashen world of Dark Souls 3, with obstacles around every corner, Siegward of Catarina’s presence is a comforting one. He may be as bumbling as his (assumed) ancestors, but he is actually quite the reliable ally. He finds his own way through some of Dark Souls 3’s toughest challenges, requiring a little help in some cases, but he does it all to repay a sobering debt to an old friend. And after each small victory along the way, what better way to take a moment and celebrate than with some of Siegward’s own specialty brew, the delicious Siegbräu.
It took me a bit to come up with an appropriate recipe for Siegbräu. I initially was thinking of an onion beer to match our beloved onion knight, but most research suggested that using onion in a beer was not a very good idea. The description for Siegbräu mentions that it is a drink even an undead can enjoy, so I assumed it was a drink mixed with an estus flask and looked at my previous recipe for inspiration. I tried coming up with something with similar components (orange juice, cinnamon, alcohol) and ended up with a delicious drink that’s as jolly and warm as Siegward. Be sure to toast to your valor, my sword, and our victory together. Long may the Sun shine!

1 white tea bag
1 ½ oz spiced syrup
1 ½ oz rye whiskey
2 oz orange juice
