This past weekend, I finally finished my playthrough of Golf Story. I am not a fan of the sport of golf and sports video games are typically a hard pass for me. Golf Story is a completely different type of sports game and I loved every moment of it. This game was a complete surprise for me. I probably would have never picked it up if I hadn’t seen a few friends play it. The dialogue alone made me know I had to get it for myself. The next day I ordered the game on my Switch and started right away. I loved Lara and completely related to her. When playing miniature golf, I tend to hit the ball on the harder side and overshoot my target. Lara has that same power when it comes to her golf swing. Of course, the only way to react is to push yourself even harder and to call out your opponent.
One of the popular stops at Wellworn Grove is the soda bar. After a long day of golf, you can treat yourself to a delicious raspberry soda. Early in the game, Coach requests that you get him a soda before he shows you his secret technique: the Hot Potato Shot. This raspberry soda is one of the lightest sodas I’ve made to date. I found it to be very refreshing with a strong raspberry flavor. This is a recipe I will be making very often, especially during the hot summers but honestly all year round.
Ingredients:
Raspberry Syrup
1 ½ cup water
1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh raspberries
Per Serving
8-10 tbsp raspberry syrup
ice
1 ¼ cup club soda
Combine the water and sugar in a saucepan and place over medium-high heat. Whisk until the sugar has dissolved.
Add the raspberry and smash them. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove from the heat and strain into an airtight container. Once cooled, cover and store in refrigerator for at least 12 hours and up to 2 weeks.
To make a serving, combine the syrup and ice in a cup. Pour in the club soda and stir.
