The Sims 4: City Living is my favorite expansion. I love being able to explore each of the neighborhoods and attend all the unique events around town. In San Myshuno, I have an easy time connecting to all of my neighbors and other Sims throughout the other cities. I really appreciate that each expansion in the game includes a handful of new food items. City Living added a lot of international options and I am a huge fan of all the variety. My Sim will make an effort to hit each of the food stalls so they have the knowledge of all the unique recipes. If you are looking to spice up your Sims 4 experience, I highly recommend checking out the City Living expansion.
This past month, I have had a huge craving for scones and have been finding any excuse to make myself a batch. While playing through The Sims 4, I had a character focus pretty heavily on baking and was excited to see scones on the list. My Sim’s goal was to make the best bakery in all the land! The fruit scones in game can come in a few varieties and this week we are going to focus on lemon scones. I love lemon flavored desserts and the more powerful the flavor the better in my opinion. Just thinking about these makes me want to bake another batch. Well, I know what I’m baking the next time I get a chance.
Ingredients:
2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp cardamom
⅓ cup sugar
zest of 2 small lemons
½ cup unsalted butter, frozen
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp lemon extract
1 cup heavy cream
Preheat an oven to 375°F. In a bowl combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cardamom, sugar, and lemon zest. Take a box grater and grate the frozen butter into the bowl.
Combine the butter with the flour until it resembles coarse meal. Add the vanilla extract, lemon extract, and heavy cream. Mix until just combined (do not overwork it).
Transfer the dough onto the countertop and form into am 8-inch wide disc. Cut into 8 portions. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and non-stick spray. Place each of the scones on the baking sheet.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
