I have spoken numerous times about Golf Story now and I still really love this game. Golf Story is one of my big surprises of the past year and can’t get enough of it. One of the craziest features in the game is the GALF series. When I loaded the first disc of GALF up, I could not understand what was going on. One evening, Jeff decided it was time to sit down and complete all three games of GALF. I have no idea how he managed it but he got through the all of them and his score wasn’t terrible. He actually got pretty close to finishing on par with the first game. The GALF user manuals are wonderful. You need to make some time to reach through all the wonderful writing in each of them.
Coldwind Waste is an extremely icey, cold, and bandit-filled park. Well, not bandits. Sorta… bandit-like? It’s not important. When you finally get access to the park, one of the first tasks you are given is to help someone thaw out their friends with some refreshing hot cocoa. The moment I saw this, I knew I had to get working on a hot cocoa recipe. Hot cocoa is traditionally made with a powder mix rather than actual chocolate. This mix is relatively easy and can be modified with your favorite spices. To keep true to the game, this recipe is all done in a coffee mug and then heated in the microwave. This might be one of the easiest recipes I’ve ever made and is perfect for the start of winter. Stay warm my friends and keep on galfing! Or maybe don’t because it’s illegal!
Ingredients:
1 ¼ cup powdered sugar
⅔ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup malted milk powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cornstarch
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp cardamom
In a bowl combine, all of the ingredients together. You can keep this in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
To make a cup of hot cocoa, place 2-3 tablespoons of the mix in a cup. Fill the cup half way with milk and stir. Place in the microwave to heat up to your desired temperature. Top with whipped cream and enjoy.
