All of my siblings love playing the Sims series. We would set communities up in-game and see the chaos that would ensue. My sister was the most creative with developing crazy scenarios. She would set up multidimensional love triangles and see the drama unfold. Many times, that drama would spill over to my households and the cleanup was always a long road. The last time she visited me in Houston, we did spend a few hours chilling and playing The Sims 4 together. We made a ridiculous house and of course she had already set up the drama. A husband making all the money for his wife to live happily at home. The wife grew bored with the home life and lost the romantic flair with her husband. She began to explore her options while her husband was unaware. Unfortunately, that save file has vanished since we played so the next time she stops by, we will have to start a whole new story.
All Sims new to the kitchen should start their culinary adventure with a basic recipe like the BLT found in The Sims 4.But we won’t be making a basic version of this sandwich. We are going to elevate this sandwich with the wonderful flavor of black garlic. This past year, I’ve discovered how great the flavor of black garlic can work to compliment meals. Black garlic has a powerfully sweet and earthy flavor similar to balsamic. The complex layers of flavors are difficult to describe, but I recommend at least giving it a try. The other way we are elevating this sandwich by making a bacon weave. This helps guarantee that every bite of the sandwich has bacon in it.
Ingredients:
Black Garlic Mayo
1 head of black garlic
½ cup mayo
1 scallion, sliced
Bacon
12 pieces of bacon
pepper
Sandwich
4 slices of bread
2 roma tomatoes, sliced
salt
butter lettuce
Combine the black garlic and mayo in a bowl. Smash the black garlic until it is well incorporated with the mayo. Mix in the sliced scallion and set aside.
Preheat your oven to 425°F. On a baking sheet with aluminum foil, place 6 pieces of bacon next to each other. Lift the second and fourth piece halfway up and lay a piece of bacon across the other piece.
Unfold the second and fourth piece of bacon and lift the first, third, and fifth piece. Lay a piece of bacon across. Repeat these steps until you have a bacon weave that looks like the photo above.
Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until crispy. Carefully place the bacon weave on a plate with paper towels. After the bacon has cooled, cut in half.
To assemble the sandwich, toast the slices of bread. Sprinkle a bit of salt on each of the tomato slices. Spread a portion of mayo on each of the bread slices. Top two of the slices with tomato, followed by one of the bacon halves, and then a hearty portion of lettuce. Top with the other two slices of bread and cut the sandwich in half.
