Guild Wars 2 is turning seven years old next week and it is time for me to make a ton of recipes to celebrate! I want to take a moment and thank the developers at ArenaNet for making such a wonderful game that I’ve been able to enjoy for so long. I may not sink as much time into it as I used to, but I make sure to come back for every new living world chapter. Each chapter has introduced interesting new lands and a great story. The last one was a nice wrap up to the last season and I cannot wait for the next one to start up. Hopefully, next weekend at PAX they will be giving us some more information about what the game has on the horizon.
Next week, the game is adding ascended cooking recipes. I can’t wait to cook the recipes both in-game and in real life. For now, we will be looking at an old recipe before we make the jump to ascended crafting. The care and detail Arenanet has put into the chef crafting discipline shows how much knowledge the studio has about cooking. Many of the basic ingredients are what would be necessary to make a delicious dish. For example, the avocado smoothie’s in-game recipe requires 1 avocado, 2 snowflakes, and 1 bottle of coconut milk. I live in Texas and I won’t be finding any snowflakes anytime soon, but I can work around that by replacing it with ice. Mixing ice, avocado, and coconut milk will make for a delicious simple version of the avocado smoothie. I had to turn it up a bit and added a few extras to kick up the flavor in this smoothie. This recipe is extremely easy and a wonderful way to jumpstart your morning.
Ingredients:
2 avocados
2 bananas
1 tsp ginger, grated
juice and zest of 1 lime
1 cup coconut milk
pinch of salt
3 tbsp honey
1 cup ice
Blend all the ingredients but the ice in a blender until smooth. Add the ice and blend until the ice is crushed. rink this as soon as it is made because the avocado will start to oxidize and brown. Top with whipped cream and serve.
