Don’t Starve is a game I will only ever be able to play with friends. There is so much you have to do in order to have a successful run that I’d get lost alone. Honestly, my best hope is to play with Jeff; he is able to deal with all the hard enemies while I just play around organizing everything. The solo player version of the game has seen some pretty interesting DLCs. Hamlet came out about a year ago and added a lot of new content. The game adds a world that includes pigs living in the Pig City biome that includes a large variety of shops. There are wonderful places like The Sterling Trough Deli and Swinesbury Fine Grocer’s. I’m happy to see that they included these because food is such an important element in the game. The interior of The Sterling Trough Deli is just adorable and it gives you another way to access some wonderful food. The little store owner has a great smile and is clearly making delicious treats to be enjoyed.
On top of the little villages, there are several new recipes and ingredients. One of the new items is the Tea Tree. These trees will spawn little creatures called pikos. I’m guessing because of their diet in the trees, you are able to use them in recipes to make delicious tea. Summer is just around the corner so it is the perfect time to start making some iced tea. When coming up with this recipe, I wanted to work in a few things to match items in-game. Since one of the pikos in the game comes in an orange variety, I figured it was important to include orange in the recipe. Also one of the major sweeteners you can produce in the game is honey. Of course, ice can be difficult to find in game but if you plan correctly in winter you’ll have enough to survive the hot summers. Combine all those wonderful pieces together and you will have a delicious iced tea.
