Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a wonderful game for fans of the franchise. Being able to explore the world and experience the amazing story arcs yourself is so much fun. I haven’t had a chance to check out the latest DLC but they have started adding story elements from Dragon Ball Super. I’ve really loved what they have done with Dragon Ball Super and when I get some free time in my schedule I will be jumping back into the game. For now, I’ll get my Dragon Ball fill from the manga and by recreating recipes from the game.
We continue our Dragon Ball meal making with the Wild Pasta. We are starting off with the basic version. The extra one has many more ingredients needed and that’ll be a recipe for a future post. At first glance, I knew we would be creating some form of a bolognese sauce in order to get that meaty look that the image has. The in-game recipe uses wolf meat, but that isn’t an ingredient I think anyone can (or should) buy at your local grocery store. Instead, I decided to use some more gamey meats like duck bacon and ground lamb. Both of these add a nice extra flavor that you wouldn’t get from beef or regular bacon. This is an extremely easy pasta sauce and makes a wonderful amount of leftovers. Unless you’re feeding a pack of saiyans, then I doubt there will be any left!
Jump to Printable Recipe1 lb ground lamb
2 oz tomato paste
¼ cup water
4 pieces duck bacon, sliced
6 cloves of garlic, minced (20 grams)
1 onion, diced (160 grams)
1 bell pepper, diced (70 grams)
1 cup dry red wine
28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp sugar
1 ½ tbsps oregano
1 tbsp thyme
salt
pepper
1 package of pasta, cooked
Generously season the ground lamb with salt and pepper. Combine the tomato paste and water in a bowl. Add the crushed tomatoes and whisk together.
Heat a large pan over medium-high. Add the duck bacon and cook until just cooked. Toss in the garlic and cook for about a minute. Add the onion and bell peppers. Cook until the onions are translucent. Add the ground lamb and cook until it starts to brown.
Once the lamb has browned, add the red pepper flakes, sugar, oregano and basil. Add the red wine and let it reduce by half.
Finally, add the tomato mixture. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for at least 30 minutes. Toss the pasta in the sauce and serve.
