Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth releases today! I’m so excited for everyone to explore the world and story that RGG Studios has to offer in this entry to the series. This game is by far my most anticipated game of the year and after the release date announcement I have been carefully avoiding any additional information about the game. Since the game is just out, I will avoid talking about any major plot points. I do want to call out the incredible changes that were made to the combat system. All of the updates, from the little bit of adjusting your positioning to your teammates hitting enemies you toss in their direction, have made this one of my favorite turn-based combat systems. I love the extra layer of strategy that these adjustments give to the game.
A little bit of story talk, again no major plot points or spoilers here! When Ichiban arrives in Hawaii he is immediately greeted with a lot of danger right off the bat. After a perilous taxi ride, he has a moment with his new friend, Eiji, to catch a bite to eat. Their first meal is enjoyed at a Hotel, looking out at the beach but you never get a good view of the meal they are eating. But, as they are roaming around the streets Eiji recommends that Ichiban grab something from a small shop called the Library Cafe: Morning Joe. Ichiban heads over, picks up a tuna sandwich, and the first recipe for Infinite Wealth was picked!
Tuna salad is an extremely popular dish here in the States. Most cafes that serve sandwiches typically have tuna salad on their menu. This felt like a great recipe to start with to highlight the many American dishes that are shown in Infinite Wealth. At first glance, this looks like any standard tuna salad – tuna mixed with mayo. I kept looking at the picture and noticed there were a few darker speckles throughout the mixture that I felt something extra was added. Raisins felt like the correct choice here and it works really well!
10 oz canned tuna in water, drained
1 oz raisins
2 scallions, white and light green part finely minced
⅓ cup japanese mayo
½ tsp fish sauce
1 tsp yuzu juice
kosher salt
ground black pepper
4 slices multigrain bread
6 pieces of butter lettuce
Combine the tuna, raisins, scallions, mayo, fish sauce, and yuzu juice in a medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
To set up a sandwich, place the 4 slices of bread on a cutting board. Top two of the slices with 3 pieces of butter lettuce.
Split the tuna salad on top of the butter lettuce covered bread and spread into an even layer. Top each with the remaining slice of bread. Slice on a diagonal and serve immediately.
