These past few weeks have been rather busy. With the recent move from apartment living to home living, I’ve realized how much more work I’m doing around the house. I guess when you own something, you want to put a lot more time into taking care of it. Of course with all the house chores building up I’ve found my time to cook to be reduced slightly. I mostly blame the many trips to Home Depot to get items we didn’t need until now.
I found myself thinking of Don’t Starve a few times during this process. Each week my husband and I go through a list of things to do to make sure everything in the house is going to run smoothly to keep things normal. In Don’t Starve Together, I would always play the role of the person trying to make sure base camp was perfectly organized and food was being made while the rest of the group went adventuring.
At home I’ve been finding a balance between housework and cooking. I’ve had to reduce the amount of long cook items I’ve been making recently. One way I’ve found myself combating hunger during longer cook items is making a few easy snacks. I’ve recently delved into the world of trail mix. The combinations are endless and you can customize it anyway you want. The main things you need are a few types of nuts and dried fruit and maybe some chocolate because why not. Here’s a tasty combination I’d suggest!
Ingredients:
¾ cup roasted and salted cashews
¾ cup dark chocolate almond
¾ cup walnuts
¼ cup sunflower seeds, hulled
¾ cup dried cherries
½ cup yogurt raisins
Mix all ingredients together.
