The Philadelphia Fusion have had an extremely strong start to Stage 4. Since the season began, the Fusion have been a team I have enjoyed watching. During stage 1, my husband was trying to decide which team he would be rooting for and the Fusion was on the list. After a few games we both enjoyed the way the team played and have been cheering them on. Fragi and Poko are one of my favorite tank duos in the league. Sure, they might not have the best record but I love their aggressive play style. Poko is one of the reasons I started practicing D.Va ultimate placements. I have spent time getting a better understanding of how to successfully launch the mecha and get a few sneaky kills. I won’t be as amazing as Poko but practice will make me slightly better.
My father-in-law grew up in Philly and has always been a huge Philadelphia sports fan, but my husband has yet to convince him to watch an Overwatch League game. Since the Fusion are owned by the same Comcast group that owns the Flyers, we figured he’d naturally be rooting for them if he picked any team, but it hasn’t happened quite yet. We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve that we want to try, so I haven’t given up hope yet! I can probably help the situation by making these Fusion inspired creamsicles. The combination of cream and orange might sounds odd but it makes for a very delightful frozen treat. It is important when making these to blend these really well. If you don’t mix them enough, they can separate as they freeze and you’ll end up with popsicles that are half orange juice and half heavy cream.
Ingredients:
Popsicle
1 cup orange juice
1 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp orange extract
2 tsp vanilla extract
8 drops of orange food dye
Dark Chocolate
¼ cup dark chocolate chips
1 tsp coconut oil
Combine the orange juice, heavy cream, sugar, orange extract, and vanilla extract. Blend until completely smooth and well combined. Add the orange food dye and mix well.
Transfer the mixture into your popsicle molds. Place the popsicle sticks in, cover, and place in the freezer overnight (at least 12 hours).
The next day, place the chocolate in a bowl and add the coconut oil. Place in the microwave and heat up until it melts. Make sure to stir everything together. Set aside and allow to slightly cool.
Set a plate with parchment paper on the side. Remove a popsicle from its mold. Add two quick drizzles of chocolate to match the Fusion’s logo.
Once the chocolate sets, place on the plate with parchment paper. This popsicles does melt pretty quickly so it is important to either eat immediately or wrap each popsicle in plastic to store in the freezer to enjoy later.

Oh man I want to make these for the finals against NYXL on Friday! The Fusion is MY TEAM!! My only thought though is that my child would obviously want to eat these but has an artificial dye sensitivity…do you think it would be orange enough without adding the dye?

Unfortunately, I don’t think they would and I had that concern while making these. I’d imagine the right way to approach this would be with carrots/ carrot juice to get the real strong orange color. I’m not sure what the end taste would be like but I’d say it would be worth experimenting with. I would start with carrot juice and reduce the amount of milk/ orange juice based on how much carrot you add. Taste before freezing them to make sure the carrot doesn’t overpower it.
If you do try that let me know how it works (or if it doesn’t work at all). Best of luck and Go FUSION! 😀
