Harvestella is a farming RPG that was released last year. I played through the demo and enjoyed myself, but haven’t picked up the full game. At the time, I was looking for a game that focused a bit more on the farming and relationship aspects rather than the combat. Based on the demo, it felt like the combat part was a bit more of a focus. That might not be completely true for the whole game, but that was just based on my experience with the demo. I did think the visuals were very beautiful and I had a fun time. There were a few big games that came out at the same time that just pushed this one off my must buy list. In a few months, I might have more time to check this title out.
The recipes you can cook in this game are something I think about all the time. As I mentioned, the visuals are gorgeous and that includes all the drawn food. I’ve had several friends send me messages about the food in this game and knew at some point I would start coming up with some recipes. We are going to start off with a recipe that is pretty easy and super quick to put together. The Chilled Tomato Pasta was one of the items that I knew I would be making the moment I saw it. It is basically if you took a caprese salad and added carbs to it. The perfect combo in my opinion!
1 lb capellini
8 oz fresh mozzarella mini balls
20 cherry tomatoes, cut in half
1 oz fresh basil, julienned
½ cup olive oil
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp dried oregano
kosher salt
black ground pepper
Cook the pasta according to the package. Once al dente, transfer to a bowl with ice water. Let the pasta rest until completely cooled, about 5 minutes. Strain the pasta and place in a large bowl.
Add the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and dried oregano and toss well. Add ¾ of the basil and toss until combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
To set up a plate, place half a portion on the plate. Top with mozzarella balls and tomatoes. Cover with the other half of the pasta portion. Add additional mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.
