Pixelated Provisions turned 5 years old at the beginning of this month! It is wild to think that I’ve been making recipes for that long! I have really been enjoying every moment and can’t wait to continue cooking food from video games for another 5 years.
Thank You!
First, I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who reads this blog. Without you, I probably would have stopped posting these recipes a while ago. I also want to thank all the games that continue to include delicious food. Without it, this blog would have never started. I love that I am able to do this and look forward to each crazy, food-filled weekend I have. This blog has helped me grow as a home chef and as a photographer. Again, thank you to everyone that keeps me motivated to continue posting delicious new recipes! Also a small shout out to the people that I can share my results with. If I ate all of these desserts by myself, I would be at least 50 pounds heavier.
Improvements
Throughout this year, I have worked really hard on improving my photo skills and recipe concepts. I hope to continue developing these skills! I will always be researching and experimenting. I have learned where the good spots are in my house to take the best photos. I learned very quickly last year that in the kitchen I have a nice skylight but it is terrible for photos. I quickly adjusted and started taking photos on a foldout table near a window that gets just the right amount of sunlight. It is amazing how important lighting is when it comes to food photography.
To continue improving my blog, I want to know what you, the readers, would like to see. More simple recipes? More food from a specific game? Different kinds of photos? Posts besides recipes? Any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I want to continue to grow as a blogger and your suggestions will truly help me achieve that.
Future Work
I am currently working on a pretty large side project. It is still a secret and being finalized. The moment things are more set in stone, this blog will be the first to know. I promise it is very exciting and you will all love it.
Besides that, during the next few months you will begin seeing a lot more recipes from Battle Chef Brigade. This game is one that I have been looking forward to for a few years now. The art is gorgeous and there are a ton of recipes I am excited to make! The game will be coming out this holiday season and I know the Fandom Foodie group is planning a big recipe round up to celebrate. During that month, I will be cooking at least five recipes from the game. Prior to that, I will probably be doing a few others. If you do not know about this game, I highly recommend you check it out!
Last year, I was hoping to start doing a few more bonus posts. Time, work, and uncertainty of what to do kind of stopped that. I am hoping to kick that up again, maybe once a month or so. I would like to do things like reviews of food and general post about games I am playing. If these things sound interesting let me know – that’ll help motivate me to posting these!
